1.  What is self defense?
Self defense is a set of awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontational skills with safety strategies and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully escape, resist and survive violent attacks. A good self defense class provides psychological awareness and verbal skills, not just physical training.

2.  Does self defense work?
Yes. Self defense training can increase your options and help you prepare responses to slow down, deescalate, or interrupt and attack. Like any tool, the more you know about it, the more informed you are to make a decision to use it.

Every woman and teenage girl should learn basic self defense techniques. Unlike  traditional karate classes, women's self defense  focuses on simple life saving techniques that can be learned quickly. Palm heel strikes, elbow and knee strikes can be easily performed by most women. Learning and practicing these techniques can mean the difference between being a victim or a survivor.
